The ebb and flow of nature can be seen in all of its beautiful forms, from the human life cycle to the organic movement of water. This painting encapsulates the rhythmic flow of energy rising, right before it will soon settle down again. It serves as a reminder that there are highs and lows, and in the end, the equilibrium will return just as nature intended.

This painting began as a graphite sketch on canvas. I painted the background first, working quickly to create a smooth gradation of yellow. I painted the first layer of the wave using base colors and values. I continued to paint layers of colors to build up the saturation and values of the hues. Lastly, I coated the canvas with two layers of professional grade satin varnish.
