This piece was inspired by the energy of Indigo Tide. I cropped a portion of the wave in that painting, magnified it, and fragmented it into individual brush marks. I focused on preserving the indigo color while heightening the turquoise. The movement of the wave is dramatized by the direction strokes of paint and variation of thick to thin marks.
