This piece was inspired by the shapes of the of a crashing wave crest. First, I painted strokes of indigo to create the curve structure of the composition with a medium flat brush. Next I added strokes of turquoise and cobalt blue. I mixed a neutral grey and white paint marks directly on the canvas to create a roughly blended background. Using a smaller brush, I painted strokes of sea-green.
